Organizations of all kinds are increasingly concerned with achieving and demonstrating sound Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) performance by controlling their OH&S risks, consistent with their OH&S policy and objectives. Many organizations are undertaking OH&S reviews to assess their OH&S performance. In order for the reviews to be effective, they need to be conducted within a structured management system that is integrated within the organization.
In View of this, the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) conducts trainings for industry on Occupational Health and Safety Management System based on OHSAS 18001.
The OH&SMS training is tailored for senior to middle level managers, practicing Quality Controllers, Laboratory heads, chemists, product design/development managers, plant/process engineers and senior factory workers in organizations intending to or implementing an Occupational Health and Safety Management System. The training comprises of formal classroom sessions, case studies and open forum discussions.
