Testing Services
KEBS operates several laboratories that conduct testing to ensure quality assurance across various industries. Each laboratory specializes in different areas, contributing to the overall goal of upholding excellence in testing and conformity assessment.
In addition to the advanced performance of our equipment, the strength of our laboratories lies in the expertise of our technical staff, which includes highly qualified professionals such as doctors, engineers, and experienced senior technicians. Their combined knowledge and skills ensure the delivery of accurate, reliable, and high-quality testing and measurement services, further reinforcing our commitment to excellence in quality assurance.
Testing Laboratories are accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. Accreditation signifies that we have been evaluated against internationally recognized standards and adhere to the highest levels of quality and service. This provides you with added assurance that our reports are credible and impartial. Our accreditation minimizes risk for you and your customers, instilling confidence in our independently assessed competence and performance capabilities. We are accredited by the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) for approximately 300 tests, with around 45 qualified staff serving as technical signatories. Our accreditation encompasses various fields, including textiles, metals, polymers, electrical engineering, civil engineering, organic chemistry, petroleum, inorganic chemistry, food, agriculture, and microbiology.

Environmental testing
Our laboratories are recognized by the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA, Kenya) for:
- Analyzing air, soil, and water samples to monitor environmental pollutants and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conducting emission testing for industries to assess their environmental impact.
Proficiency testing Program
KEBS Proficiency Testing recognizes the importance of confidence in laboratory measurements and the methods used to achieve them. For the past 25 years, we have been at the forefront of proficiency testing, leveraging our technical expertise and influence to advance quality assurance and accreditation. Proficiency Testing (PT) is essential for accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 15189, and we offer PT schemes across various sectors, including food, beverage, environmental, consumer safety, textiles, and polymers. Reference materials
KEBS produces reference materials in the field of food safety, environmental and biological analysis that will increase laboratories measurement quality, reliability and consequently increase the quality of life.
